You're spending the summer in Rome?!? I'm jealous! My husband and I were in Italy 4 years ago and loved it! Beautiful country!

Kym -- finding it hard to read with an inquisitive 20 month old, eh? Yes, I remember those days well. :) I do plan to continue reading that series but probably won't get to it until fall.

Aleisha -- "I'd Know You Anywhere" sounds like quite the thriller! Not sure I'm brave enough to read it though. :sLaurie@The Baking Bookwormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17678146631438774221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-14990276780846618162011-08-05T09:27:19.890-04:002011-08-05T09:27:19.890-04:00I am reading "I'd know you anywhere"...I am reading "I'd know you anywhere" by Laura Adderman? I will have to get the author's name. It's about a woman who was kidnapped and raped by a serial killer and then released instead of being killed like all of his other victims. Fast forward 15 years later, he contacts her, yikes! JUST started, so I can;t give any opinions yet, but it looked interesting in the library, so I picked it up. I will let you know what it is like.Aleishanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-55648628865007569682011-08-04T09:24:02.492-04:002011-08-04T09:24:02.492-04:00I'm still working on "The Girl Who Kicked...I'm still working on "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest". I have a 20 month old at home so I don't get much time to read. I am enjoying it, as much as I did the first 2 in the series. Another suggestion is "Major Pettigrew's Last Stand". It is a lovely, light romantic comedy that takes place in the English countryside. A perfect summer read.Kymnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-75564537727338966822011-08-04T09:02:13.534-04:002011-08-04T09:02:13.534-04:00Hello, I found you at my friend barefeetinthekitch...Hello, I found you at my friend barefeetinthekitchen and I'm following you immediately. I love cooking and I love books. At the moment we're in Rome for the summer and I'm reading Jane Eyre (for about the 10th time, I love it!) and Oblomov, a book which I read in Russian but didn't understand all of it so I'm now rereading it in Italian. By the way, I was in Toronto for the whole summer in 1970 taking a Russian Intensive Summer Course at Toronto University. I had so much fun, I found Italian pizzerias and even a gelato shop.Saucy Sicilianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10044337117600868975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-84813564237665038872011-08-03T23:14:24.638-04:002011-08-03T23:14:24.638-04:00Beth - I'm always on the lookout for a good co...Beth - I'm always on the lookout for a good cozy mystery. I've heard of Earlene Fowler but haven't read anything by her yet. Do you have to read her series in order?

Christina - I've never heard of Thirteen Reasons Why but I'll definitely look into it. Not that I have time to read with everything that I'm supposed to get done in the next few weeks... :)Bethnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-59194369453863105552011-08-03T21:31:08.329-04:002011-08-03T21:31:08.329-04:00Mommies Favourites -- I've seen The Book of Aw...Mommies Favourites -- I've seen The Book of Awesome in stores but haven't picked it up. Whenever I see it I'm always reminded of Barney Stinson (from How I Met Your Mother fame) whom I love!!! :) What genre is it in? Humourous?

Yes, I remember those busy days with a baby in one arm and a toddler in the other. Short chapter books are much easier to get through and stay focused on! :)Laurie@The Baking Bookwormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17678146631438774221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-477054821319247462011-08-03T21:29:55.051-04:002011-08-03T21:29:55.051-04:00I LOVE all the comments and book suggestions! Keep them coming!

Mary - when I picked up Mistress of Rome I noticed that there was another book "Daughters of Rome" (plus a new book coming in 2012). I'm looking forward to readin the series.

April - I've heard so much about this "Game of Thrones" series!! I'm going to have to see what they're all about. I had the same feeling about Sookie Stackhouse. I read the first book years ago and just didn't get what the hype was all about. I didn't hate it but didn't love it either.Laurie@The Baking Bookwormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17678146631438774221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-62387627880239438112011-08-03T21:10:58.656-04:002011-08-03T21:10:58.656-04:00I am currently reading The Book of Awesome - I lik...I am currently reading The Book of Awesome - I like it as it fits my lifestyle right now (with a newborn and a two year old I never seem to have time to read). This is easy as I can read a page or two and not have to remember what happened when I last read it and what not.

Love to hear everyones' suggestions each week - I am making a list of "To Read" after reading the comments each week! I loved, loved loved it! Can't wait to dive back in to Winterfell and the Seven Kingdoms. I have the next three books in the series waiting for me on my Kobo, but I took a break to read the first Sookie Stackhouse book as it came available on my library hold. It's an "okay" book. I have a feeling I will read more of this series when the mood strikes, but I can't say that I'll be in a rush to do so.April from Comox, BCnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-14120621738439387102011-08-03T20:57:28.826-04:002011-08-03T20:57:28.826-04:00I finished a book this morning - Too Big To Miss b...I finished a book this morning - Too Big To Miss by Sue Ann Jaffarian. A friend loaned me her Kindle edition. It's a fast and entertaining mystery.
I started What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty but I'm only a few pages in.

I listened to Room several months ago. Not sure I could have read it but listening turned out to be the right choice for me. Given the subject it's not a book I would have read without all the hype. I also read Mistress of Rome - it's part of a series! I thought it was pretty good. And yes, the cover is lovely.Mary (Bookfan)https://www.blogger.com/profile/00573126476574980169noreply@blogger.com
