While the space would make a nice apartment (if we had added a shower and the stairs weren't in the middle of our home) we regularly use it for our family and big get togethers. It's easily one of our favourite spaces.
We love our wine rack at the bar but chose to store the liquor in the cabinets just to keep things looking less cluttered. Believe me, our bar is stocked! 😉 We plan to add a rustic shelf above the bar sink.

Thanks for taking time to comment. More posts about the basement reno can be found towards the top of my blog in the Home Renovation tab. The lighting is nicely done and warm, a few floor lamps near the bar area would be exceptional. Maybe you could add some rustic looking (open-faced) wine/liquor bottle rack at the bar. Like the five panel doors, great job overall.

Frank George @ Dutch Hollow SuppliesFrank Georgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17404456953240474654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-76240916442779385612017-09-04T16:06:21.097-04:002017-09-04T16:06:21.097-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.dddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08925998054056530207noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-42327042381799119382017-02-01T18:28:50.973-05:002017-02-01T18:28:50.973-05:00Thanks, Janine! I agree that if you take the time researching colour, tiles, flooring, finishes etc and don't go too trendy you should still love your 'new' room years later. Or at least I hope so. 😉 I don't really want to do the basement again in 5 years. Ok, maybe only a portion of my books. 😉 Laurie@The Baking Bookwormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17678146631438774221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-14575916435408116082017-02-01T17:05:22.201-05:002017-02-01T17:05:22.201-05:00Oh wow it just looks fantastic 😀👍🏻 You should b...Oh wow it just looks fantastic 😀👍🏻 You should be proud of yourself all that hard work and it looks stunning! I know when we built our house I took a of time on paint colours, tiles, finishes etc and 5 years later I am still pleased with all my choices, and I have no regrets, so it's worth procrastinating to get the right finish.Janine Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00661767812827454045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648528809470059310.post-24340472456233164202017-02-01T16:30:38.288-05:002017-02-01T16:30:38.288-05:00The stone on the fireplace looks fantastic!
